Mario Bros.

This is a remake of the NES version of the first Mario Bros. game, originally released in 1986. It only contains the first 4 levels.

This is intended as a game developpement exercise and was all created live on twitch (https://www.twitch.tv/alaiing), using the MonoGame framework.

It was made by trying to replicate the original game through observation not emulation and so it is not exactly identical to the original experience.

I do not own any of the graphical assets, they are property of Nintendo.

All sounds were made with my mouth. Yeah, I know.

Controls:

Player 1 : gamepad / arrows + space

Player 2 : gamepad / YGHJ + F

Using the DPad on your controller is strongly recommended for a better retro experience.

Configuration:

You can tweak several gameplay data in the config.ini file, including the scale of the screen with the "SCREEN_SCALE" parameter (default is 4, if your screen resolution is below 1080p, set this to 3 or 2).
